Cooker hood carbon filters

When a kitchen hood is not connected to the kitchen’s ventilation duct, it can be equipped with activated carbon filters. In this setup, the cleaned air is recirculated back into the room. The small carbon particles inside the activated carbon filter effectively absorb odors and fumes.

Replaceable activated carbon filters are disposable and should be changed regularly. The lifespan of a disposable filter typically ranges from 3 to 4 months, depending on usage. For heavy use, the filter needs to be replaced more frequently, whereas lighter use may extend the replacement interval.

As an alternative to disposable filters, a reusable Long Life filter is available, with a lifespan of approximately 36 months. During regular use, the efficiency of this filter starts to decline after about three years, at which point it should be replaced with a new one.

Lapetek-branded kitchen hoods feature activated carbon filters, both disposable and Long Life models, that are easy to install. They are attached directly to the top of the metallic grease filter, unlike traditional filters, which are mounted on either side of the motor inside the hood.
